About the Author
Tony C. Caputo has written several non-fiction instructional books including Visual Storytelling: The Art and Technique (Watson-Guptill 2002), Build Your Own Server (McGraw-Hill 2003), the best-seller Digital Video Surveillance and Security (Elsevier 2010) and How to Self-Publish Your Own Comic Book (Watson-Guptill 1997). Although Caputo is no longer within the entertainment field, having pursued a better career in technology in 1994, he also assisted Jim Banister in 2000 on the development of his ground-breaking networked media (now called social media) book Word of Mouse (Agate 2005).
In his youth, he published, and wrote such well-known titles as Speed Racer™, Astro Boy™, The Terminator™, The Real Ghostbusters™, Twilight Zone™, and The Green Hornet™. From 1989 to 1994, he served on the board of directors of the Comics Magazine Association of America (CMAA), a sixty year old organization for the betterment of visual storytelling in print. and has worked as a publishing consultant for a variety of companies, including Disney Publications. He also produced over 20 volumes of Speed Racer home videos and gift sets, and has created his own graphic novel series entitled Vesper's.
